The Wings pounded the Penguins, 5-0, to grab a 3-2 lead in the Stanley Cup Finals, one victory away from a repeat championship.

Detroit had several chances to control the series and take the first Finals game on Pittsburgh’s home-ice. In the third period the Penguins broke the 2-2 tie and didn’t look back.

The city’s Economic Development Corp. board voted 7-1 on Tuesday to authorize the complete demolition of the stadium. Detroit Economic Growth Corp. vice president Waymon Guillebeaux says the stadium will be leveled as soon as a contract is negotiated with a contractor.
