July 15 – Detroit Tigers’ Curtis Granderson tripled in the eighth inning and went on to score the go-ahead run. The run would become the game winner sealing the American League’s 4-3 victory at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Edwin Jackson, another All-Star representing the Tigers, pitched one perfect inning of relief. Brandon Inge grounded out in his solo appearance at the plate and Justin Verlander did not pitch.

The American League is 12-0-1 since 1996, marking the longest unbeaten streak in All-Star history. Boston’s Jonathan Papelbon was the winning pitcher, and NY’s Mariano Rivera is credited with the save. Tampa Bay’s Carl Crawford was named American League MVP.

We’ll post video highlights as soon as it’s compiled.
