June 2009 3,499 views 4 Comments

Detroit born and raised, Grammy-winning rapper, Eminem took the number one spot in total albums making him the “Artist of the Decade.” He outsold top artists like Jay-Z, Nelly and even knocked out The Beatles with total sales to date at 31,127,000.

Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg credits the success of Em’s most recent album Relapse to, believe it or not, Twitter. The popular micro-blogging app allowed Eminem.com to reach 113k unique visitors during April [source: Compete] setting the stage for the album’s debut. Analysis suggests Eminem was the most-talked about artist on Twitter that week.

Last night’s MTV Bruno Prank once again puts the Eminem in top 10 Twitter queries. The walkout from the MTV Music Awards was most likely orchestrated. We hope if Em can dish out lyrical daggers he can take a few right back.

Actually the beatles is whats more of an accomplishment than this. They are #2 and they came out 50 years ago. eminem won’t be doing those numbers in 50 years.

I guess this makes up for the ass in the face he received at the MTV awards.

    Not really.
