I love this island! My grandmother told me about sleeping on the grass in front of the casino on summer nights in the "teens" (1913?). If it was in any other city it would be treasured and taken care of properly. I commend the Friends of Belle Isle for their efforts and hope we all can come together to restore it to its earlier glory.
