Bicycle Film Festival Rides Into Detroit

July 2009 572 views No Comment

For the first time in its nine-year history the Bicycle Film Festival is coming to Detroit. As a method of transportation, cycling is as popular as ever, and one thing is certain – the BFF celebrates the bicycle.

The event centered around bike culture will show two feature-length films and 40 shorts Friday and Saturday at the Marlene Boll Theatre.

Program highlights include shorts such as “Wolfpack Hustle: All City Team Race 2,” which follows renegade Los Angeles nighttime street racers; “Keirin,” a portrait of Japanese track racers; and “Made in Queens,” about native Trinidadians who rig stereos onto BMX bikes and then treat New Yorkers to impromptu street parties.

Ultimately the Fest is about having a good time. The BFF will be Detroit July 17-18.
